The state primary will not stop the Windham Fire Department from hosting its annual Sept. 11 memorial event on Fellows Road this year. In the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that shook the country, members of the public are invited to the remembrance service. Last year, the department acquired a piece of the World Trade Center steel, which has been on display since the 10th anniversary ceremony. This year's gathering will take place at 8:30 a.m. As has been the case in previous years, a short ceremony will be followed by light refreshments inside the fire station.
