State Police Arrest Local Man for Identity Fraud

The charges were the result of a month long investigation.

A Pelham man was taken into custody at Salem District Court on Thursday following a month long identity fraud investigation.

James Murnane, Jr., 54, was charged with multiple counts of identity fraud, tampering with public records, unsworn falsification and receiving stolen property.

He was present at the courthouse for unrelated matters.

According to New Hampshire State Police, Murnane had fradulently obtained a N.H. non-drive identification card and a driver's license after assuming another person's identity.

He was held on $10,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at Salem District Court today.

The N.H. State Police were assisted by the Londonderry Police Department, Pelham Police Department and Rockingham County Sheriffs Office on the investigation.
