TELL US: What Should be Permanent School Safety Solution?

As part of a heightened school safety effort in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Windham has locked the entrances to several schools, requiring visitors to buzz in.

People have also been at the entrances to let those visitors inside.

With the increased measures, students at Windham High School still went through a 25-minute scare on Monday when a loud bang prompted a lockdown of the facility.

Readers – We want to hear from you. What is the best permanent solution for the town and the school district? 

Currently the district shares one school resource officer. Should there be more?

Should metal detectors be in all of the schools? Security gates? Bulletproof glass?

Are the schools fine the way they are currently operating?
