TELL US: Will You Support FY14 School Budget?

This March, the Windham School District is proposing a budget of $45,579,114 for FY14.

The budget, which will appear on the ballot as Article 6 represents a 4.56 percent increase over the FY13 budget, which amounts to an increase of $1,987,734.

According to the district's budget summary, that increase accounts for projections of 33 to 67 more students.

The proposed budget also represented less than a 1 percent increase over the default budget of $45,163,742.

The tax impact of the proposed FY14 budget is an increase of $0.92 per $1,000 home valuation or an additional $322 for a $350,000 home.

Last year, residents knocked down the proposed operating budget.
