Town Moderator Will Miss Deliberative Session
Peter Griffin is a mainstay at the annual meeting.

The town of Windham was notified last week that Town Moderator Peter Griffin will not be able to participate in this year's town deliberative session due to an illness.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. at Windham High School.
According to the statute, Griffin is allowed to appoint someone to take his place.

Performing his duties on Saturday will be School District Moderator Betty Dunn. The school deliberative session will take place the night before at 7 p.m., also at WHS.
Selectman Ross McLeod offered well wishes to Griffin as he recovers.

"We certainly wish him well for a speedy recovery," McLeod said. "He has been an institution in town for years and years and years."
The Board of Selectmen will already be a member short during the deliberative session, as Chairman Bruce Breton remains in the hospital after being admitted in late January for a serious illness.
His condition has since improved and he is currently recovering.
