Town Places Vacant Property Near High School Up for Sale
The sale was authorized during the 2013 town meeting.

A town-owned parcel of land that has been batted around as a possible location for commercial development will be up for sale between now and late July.
The parcel number, known as 14-B-2101, was approved by voters to be sold during the March town meeting.
A minimum bid of $20,000 is required on the 0.9-acre parcel on Haverhill Road, located at the corner of Londonbridge Road. The land is in the neighborhood business district.

As per Article 19 on the town ballot, authorization to sell the parcel will expire on Dec. 31.
On its own, the land doesn't have much value. But combined with the adjacent parcel, which is just over one acre and also zoned for neighborhood business, the value jumps.

The larger parcel is owned by Earl F. Sr. and Georgianna Goodnough.
Ideas for the location have been discussed during town meetings. One suitor could be Windham civil engineer Karl Dubay of The Dubay group, who has talked about a possible mixed-use building that could attract a business to work in conjunction with the high school.
According to a town sale notice, portions of the existing Right of Way of Londonbridge Road would also be sold, amounting to 0.68 acres.
According to the document, a final closing price will not be determined until a current appraised value of the properties is determined.
The final sale price will be the higher of either the appraised value or the bid submitted. The bidder can elect to withdraw their offer with written notice to the town of Windham delivered within 10 days of receiving the property appraisal.
Bids must be received by the office of Town Administrator Dave Sullivan by July 26 at 2 p.m. Visit here for more information.
Bids will be read and on July 29 during the Board of Selectmen meeting.
