Town Switches Dealer for Police Vehicle Replacement
A car that the town planned on purchasing from Londonderry Ford turned out to be more expensive than anticipated.

The town will have to go another direction to replace a police vehicle recently totaled in a crash.
According to Police Chief Gerald Lewis, Ford of Londonderry has backed out of a proposal that the Windham Board of Selectmen accepted last week to sell the town a replacement cruiser.
Windham will instead go with a quote from Hillsboro Ford for the price of $23,881.

The quote is $254 less than the Londonderry option accepted last week.
Ford of Londonderry determined that the car is much more expensive than the business determined to sell it for, which was the reason they withdrew the proposal.

Missing from the Hillsboro Ford vehicle are specific perks that would have been included in the Londonderry cruiser, such as an LED spotlight, electrical tray and a fan to keep the electronics cool.
Lewis said last week that the additional equipment package was worth $3,000.
Hillsboro Ford provided the last vehicle replacement for Windham Police.
