WHS Baseball Crushes Pembroke, Advances to State Semifinals
Girls softball saw their season end on Saturday.

Windham High School's baseball squad, competing in their first state tournament in team history, trounced no. 3 seed Pembroke Academy Saturday 12-3.
The win for the no. 6 Jaguars lands them a spot in the NHIAA Division II semifinals, where they will have a date on Thursday with no. 2 Portsmouth High School.
Junior pitcher Jeff Peterson allowed 3 runs, 1 earned, in the first inning. He later shut the door for the rest of the game, pitching a complete game giving up 6 hits, 3 walks and striking out 3.

According to Head Coach Derek Lee, the win avenges Windham's 10-9 regular season loss to Pembroke.

Junior 1B Connor Whittemore went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI.
Senior CF Matt Carbonello went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI 3 runs scored and 1 walk.
Freshman DH Connor Moynihan went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.
Freshman Catcher Riley Magee went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
The state semifinals game will take place at 4 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University.
Portsmouth is also coming off a blowout victory, slamming Souhegan 13-3 in the quarterfinals round.
The two squads met just once in the regular season, with Portsmouth shutting out Windham 4-0.
Also in action was Windham High's girls softball squad, who saw their season end against Hollis-Brookline by a narrow 2-0 margin.
