Windham Kidnapping Suspect Seeks Bail After Stoppage of Trial
Luis Carvalho, 33, of Taunton, Mass. is awaiting a new trial date.

According to the Union Leader, one of the suspects in a home invasion that took place in Windham last year is seeking bail just two months after a judge stopped his trial.
Luis Carvalho, 33, of Taunton, Mass. saw his trial stopped after a key witness refused to testify. He will go before a judge on July 22 to seek bail as he awaits a new trial date.
Following his arrest, Carvalho was charged with burglary, criminal restraint, criminal threatening and disobeying a police officer. He now faces a total of six charges, including kidnapping.
Two other men were reportedly involved in the incident, but were never identified.
The victim involved was 20-year-old Samantha Gervais, who was tied up after a struggle with the men, according to police.
Gervais was otherwise unharmed in the incident. She reportedly phoned 911 while Carvalho and the other men were banging on the door.
After fleeing from the scene, Carvalho was arrested almost two hours later near Cobblestone Road.
