Windham Police Department Pins New Sergeant
He was recognized at a Board of Selectmen meeting on Nov. 26.

A Windham Police officer has officially risen to the rank of sergeant following a short pinning ceremony during the Nov. 26 Selectmen meeting.
Bryan Smith was hired by the department in 2005 and has served in roles of detective and patrolman.
"It's a pleasure to come to work every day and work with people so dedicated and enthusiastic," he said. His wife Christine came out to pin her husband in front of several of his WPD colleagues.

He also took the time to thank his both his wife and mother for their continued support.
According to Chief Gerald Lewis, Smith is also a trained sniper for the Southern New Hampshire Special Operations Unit and is certified in vehicular accident reconstruction.

He called the newest sergeant on his staff one of the future leaders in the town's department.
"He has done a tremendous job for us," Lewis said of Smith.
Smith's jump in the department fills a void left following the May 31 retirement of former Sgt. Glenn Record.
Selectman Ross Mcleod briefly congratulated Smith on his accomplishment.
"We are all very grateful for your service to the town," he said, calling Smith's skills those that "dedicated people accumulate."
