Windham Power Outages Amid High Wind

Liberty Utilities reported power was knocked out to more than 500 in Windham.

WINDHAM, NH — Power was knocked out to a large swath of Windham Friday afternoon. As of 4:15 p.m., there were 546 in town without power, according to Liberty Utilities. Crews were dispatched to fix the outages and repair work was expected to be completed by 10 p.m.

The outages happened as high winds whipped across the region. Gusts hit more than 40 mph. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Windham through Saturday at 6 p.m. Gusts on Saturday were expected to hit 55 mph.

"Winds will increase through sunset and remain gusty through tonight and Saturday," NWS said in a statement. "The periods of strongest wind gusts are expected to be this evening and again during the day on Saturday."
