A $750 bid was made by John Gallagher of Merrimack, who is seeking to purchase just one of the several items offered by the town in its effort to sell off the park's equipment.

The discussion is one of the last items listed on the agenda, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The deadline to submit bids is today at 2 p.m. According to Assistant Town Manager Dana Call, one bid has been received so far.

Selectmen voted 4-0 to solicit the bids and sell the equipment during the board's April 22 meeting.

At that time, Recreation Committee Chairman Dennis Senibaldi informed the board that another late idea had come up and was to be presented to his committee.

During the last discussion, Selectmen indicated that the skate park issue would only be heard again if the Recreation Committee were to come to them having changed their mind after hearing the newest proposal.

Senibaldi said this week that the committee voted 2-1 during its last meeting not to accept the proposal presented that would have kept the skate park there.

He also touched on other ideas for the space that have been tossed around by the committee, such as a sitting area with a granite checkerboard pattern or a possible bocce court.

Until board action is taken, the skate park equipment remains at Griffin Park with a sign warning park goers not to trespass
