Firefighters Knock Down Willow Road Blaze

Firefighters responded to a report of a working fire at 3 Willow Road on Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. as a deck fire on a single-story cottage, according to emergency radio broadcasts. Police were on scene first trying to extinguish the fire, which is reportedly well involved.

The fire was on a small porch in back of the cottage, fire officials said, and firefighters were able to knock down the flames within minutes. Damage was contained to the porch.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Deputy Chief William Martineau.

Willow Road is located off Cobbetts Pond Road near the Cemetery on the Plains, not far from Cobbetts Pond.
