Large Storm Could Bring Severe Weather To NJ This Weekend
The massive storm system is moving east and will hit New Jersey on Sunday evening with widespread rain and strong, gusty winds.

NEW JERSEY — Severe storms are moving east across the country and will bring widespread rain, wind gusts of up to 50 mph and thunderstorms to the Garden State Sunday evening, according to the latest forecast.
While New Jersey will be spared from the severity other states are seeing, we still have the potential of damaging winds and heavy rainfall, the National Weather Service said. This will begin in the afternoon and evening hours.
Peak wind gusts will be 35 to 45 mph, potentially reaching up to 50 mph, National Weather Service forecasters said. Severe thunderstorms will also be a threat.

AccuWeather forecasters noted that the greatest risks will be the strong wind gusts and torrential downpours, possibly causing dangerous road conditions and grounding flights at area airports.
"Given how dry it has been, not expecting much in the way of flooding, however when rainfall rates peak and especially when over the urban areas then some roadway flooding is quite possible later Sunday afternoon and night," National Weather Service forecasters said.
