ANCHOR Tax Rebates Start Rolling Out In NJ: See When You’ll Get Yours

Payments are rolling out two weeks earlier than originally anticipated.

ANCHOR tax relief checks start rolling out this week, and eligible residents can expect to receive their rebates soon. Thanks to a smoother filing and validation system, ANCHOR rebates are being sent out more than two weeks earlier than originally anticipated.

ANCHOR payments began being sent out on a rolling basis on Monday. According to the NJ Division of Taxation, applicants can expect their rebates around 90 days after their applications were filed.

Most eligible residents had their ANCHOR applications auto-filed by the state. A letter was sent to eligible residents in August to confirm their auto-file application.

Eligible homeowners can expect to receive $1,500, with renters receiving $450. Senior homeowners can receive up to $1,750, and senior renters can receive up to $700, depending on their income.

Those who filed their ANCHOR applications by paper will receive a physical check in the mail. Those who filed online had the option to receive their rebate in the form of a physical check or direct deposit.

Monday also marks the deadline for ANCHOR applicants who need to update their banking or address information. However, residents still have time to file a new application.

The deadline to file an ANCHOR application is Oct. 31. Applications can be filed online here.

Residents who are submitting their own application must provide their Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number and their birth year. The same information is required from the applicant’s spouse/partner, if applicable.

Applicants should also prepare their 2024 property tax details, including their County/Municipality Code, Block/Lot/Qualifier, and tax amounts, as well as the gross income reported on their 2024 NJ-1040.
