A man has been arrested after a chaotic scene involving a bow-and-arrow killing, a fire, and a standoff rocked a quiet street in Kearny, according to media reports.

The incident began early Saturday evening, when a man was killed by a bow and arrow near Kearny and Johnston Avenues, the New York Times reported. A suspect barricaded himself in a house on the block, leading to a negotiation with a SWAT team that lasted through the night, until a fire broke out in the house, forcing neighbors to evacuate, according to the New York Times.

17 Injured After Trains Collide In Montclair

Trains are back up and running on the Montclair-Boonton line after two NJ Transit trains collided Friday, injuring more than a dozen people and suspending service due to a “minor derailment,” authorities say.

NJ Transit said the trains made contact west of the Bay Street Station in Montclair at 6:47 p.m. There were 17 non-life-threatening injuries. Six people — each NJ Transit crew members — were hospitalized.

NJ Police Chief Arrested Following Kidnapping Charges

Totowa police Chief Carmen Veneziano was arrested following his indictment on kidnapping and domestic assault charges in Boston, according to media reports.

The charges against Veneziano, 47, stem from a Sept. 14 incident at a Boston hotel, where he and his ex-girlfriend got into a fight, according to NJ.com. Veneziano was arrested on Friday and placed in Bergen County jail, NJ.com reported.

Man's Body Found At Popular NJ Waterfront

The body of a man was found near the Hudson River in Edgewater on Saturday morning, prosecutors said.

The body was discovered near the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, said Jeff Angermeyer, deputy chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Man Dies In Crash On NJ Highway Ramp

A 37-year-old man died on Friday afternoon when his Jeep veered off a Garden State Parkway ramp and hit multiple signs and a tree, according to media reports.

The man, Kelvin Almonte, of Elmwood Park, was driving on the southbound entrance for exit 159 and was traveling on the on-ramp to Interstate 80 East in Saddle Brook when the incident occurred, NJ.com reported.
