Dense Fog, Rain Ahead In NJ For Tuesday Morning Commute: NWS

Those traveling Tuesday morning should expect poor visibility due to a mix of dense fog and rain, forecasters said.

NEW JERSEY - Commuters should plan extra travel time Tuesday morning, forecasters said, as a combination of dense fog and rain will make visibility difficult in the Garden State.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. in 15 New Jersey counties, with less than one-half mile of visibility in dense fog. The affected counties are:

  • Monmouth
  • Mercer
  • Salem
  • Gloucester
  • Camden
  • Burlington
  • Ocean
  • Cumberland
  • Atlantic
  • Cape May
  • Passaic
  • Hudson
  • Bergen
  • Essex
  • Union

“Plan on a slower commute. Leave early and be watch out for slower drivers,” the National Weather Service said Tuesday morning. “Drive less than the speed limit when visibility is reduced. Use low-beam setting in the fog.”
