Explosion Collapses Food Processing Building In NJ

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ - Emergency officials are responding to the scene of an explosion at a fruit and vegetable processing plant in Bridgeton on Wednesday afternoon, according to Governor Phil Murphy on X.
The Seabrook Brothers and Sons building's roof has collapsed, in what could be due to an ammonia leak, says Murphy. The facility is located at 85 Finley Road in Bridgeton.

According to CBS Philadelphia, all employees are accounted for with only one minor injury that did not require hospitalization. Images from Chopper 3 show the heavy damage left to the roof of the building after the explosion that happened at around 2 p.m.
The cause of the explosion is still unclear, but Cumberland County Commissioner Kevin Smaniotto is confirming a minor ammonia leak on the grounds.
