NJ’s Surprising Labor Day Weekend Forecast
Labor Day may mark the unofficial end to summer, but the weather could make it feel like autumn is already here, forecasters say.
Summer is coming to its (unofficial) end this weekend, but pleasant and slightly cool conditions this week will feel like autumn has already hit the Garden State, according to the early Labor Day weekend forecast. With dry, sunny weather anticipated this weekend, forecasters predict a perfect holiday for going outside and getting one last trip down the shore.
Throughout the week, temperatures will remain below average, according to the National Weather Service. Humidity will also remain low.
Friday has a slight chance of showers or a thunderstorm, but the likelihood is low, National Weather Service forecasters said.

The hint of fall is more like late September than August. But it won't be so cool that it would put a damper on Labor Day activities like grilling or going to the beach.
"For anyone not ready to say goodbye to summer, temperatures may get back closer to historical averages by the Labor Day weekend. That said, extreme heat does not appear to be in the forecast," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski said.

There's some uncertainty regarding Labor Day itself, as there are indications that some showers could form later Monday along the Jersey Shore. But otherwise, pleasant conditions continue, with temperatures near or below normal.
"Labor Day itself could feature some great weather, even ending up as a top-10 weather day," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tyler Roys said, as sunnier conditions are in the forecast for later Sunday and Labor Day on Monday.
Here's the latest weekend forecast.
