Accumulation, Timing Details For Weekend Winter Storm In NJ Released
Another round of snow, sleet and freezing rain is in store for Saturday. Two more storms could follow after that.

NEW JERSEY — Parts of New Jersey could see up to 6 inches of snow as another messy winter storm hits this weekend, with more storms on the way next week.
Things will start off as light snow and maybe freezing rain starting in South Jersey on Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. As the snow expands north, it will change to a wintry mix or just rain in the southern region. Into the night, the coastal area will see only plain rain while North Jersey could see a "mix bag of winter weather," according to the National Weather Service.
This storm won't have significant snow accumulation and will be similar to what New Jersey saw in Thursday's storm, but there will be more of a wintry mix in the upper two-thirds of the state and more snow in the northwestern corner, National Weather Service forecasters said.

However, forecasters warn that it's still early enough that this could change, and the forecast is uncertain as to the type of precipitation and its exact timing.
The northernmost point of the state could see up to 6 inches of snow and sleet, according to the National Weather Service. Most of North Jersey could see 2 to 3 inches, Central Jersey could see 1 inch and the rest of the state is likely to get less than 1 inch of snow. But all over is likely to see up to a quarter-inch of ice, making for slick roads.

Travel will be hazardous this weekend, forecasters say.
"There is increasing potential for icy or snowy roads beginning Saturday evening through early Sunday morning," the National Weather Service said.
It's possible we could see two more storms next week after this, forecasters say.
"While a lot can change between now and next week, models do continue to showcase an active long range period with the potential of multiple wintry events," the National Weather Service said.
"The storm this weekend is just the next in a series of storms that is part of the pattern change that began late last week," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
It's too early for the exact details, but forecasters believe another storm will hit the area between Monday night and Wednesday.
"From late Monday into Wednesday, a storm will originate in Texas and move to the mid-Atlantic coast, with a larger swath of snow and ice to the north of its path, and the potential of heavy rain and severe weather across the South into the Southeast," said Lundberg.
Another "wintry event" is possible Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. As it's still a week away, though, there are no details available.
