ANCHOR Tax Rebate Deadline Approaching: How To Make Sure You Get Paid
While the cash started rolling out this week, there is still time to file new applications.
While several New Jerseyans have already begun receiving their ANCHOR benefits this week, it’s not too late to apply.
ANCHOR property tax rebates began being sent out on a rolling basis on Monday. Those who filed paper applications are receiving checks, and online applicants had the option to get a check or direct deposit.
The deadline for returning applicants to change banking and address information has passed, but there’s still time for new applications to be filed.

The final deadline to apply for ANCHOR benefits is Oct. 31. The application can be filed online here.
Residents who are submitting their own application must provide their Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number and their birth year. The same information is required from the applicant’s spouse/partner, if applicable.

Applicants should also prepare their 2024 property tax details, including their County/Municipality Code, Block/Lot/Qualifier, and tax amounts, as well as the gross income reported on their 2024 NJ-1040.
The deadline to file the PAS-1, a single application that allows seniors to claim benefits from Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, and the new Stay NJ Program, is also Oct. 31.
Most applicants will receive their rebate around 90 days after applying, according to the NJ Division of Taxation. Eligible homeowners can expect to receive $1,500, with renters receiving $450. Senior homeowners can receive up to $1,750, and senior renters can receive up to $700, depending on their income.
Eligibility for ANCHOR rebate
Most residents who are eligible for ANCHOR benefits, who are under 65 and do not collect social security disability benefits, received a confirmation letter in August.
This letter confirms whether your application was auto-filed by the NJ Division of Taxation.
Those who did not receive a letter but believe they are eligible can still file their own application.
