Lead Paint Recall On Kids’ Clothing Sold In NJ Stores, Amazon: Feds
No injuries have been reported thus far, but customers can return the clothing sets for a full refund.

NEW JERSEY - Clothing manufacturer Bentex has recalled several styles of its children’s clothing sets due to illegal lead content found in its ink, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The manufacturer recalled around 87,000 units of childrens' clothing sets in nine different Disney-themed styles, including prints with Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Baby Yoda and Disney Descendants characters (see below for full list of batch numbers). The product may have been distributed in nationwide retailers such as TJMaxx, DD's/Ross, Burlington, the Army & Airforce Exchange Service and Amazon, the company said.
The recalled clothing, sold between November 2021 through August 2022 for between $5 to $25, was found to exceed either the federal lead paint ban or the federal lead content ban, the company said. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause health issues such as brain and nervous system damage, as well as learning, behavior, hearing and speech issues, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
