Major Healthcare Provider Closing 90 NJ Doctor’s Offices: See Where
Optum, a UnitedHealth company, is no longer offering a number of services and closing dozens of offices in New Jersey.
A major healthcare provider is set to close almost 90 medical offices throughout the state, cutting certain specialty services entirely.
Optum, a UnitedHealth company, announced the sudden closures in emails to patients at the beginning of this week. The affected offices will close as of Dec. 30, according to Optum.
Some of the impacted services will no longer be offered by the provider; others are only certain offices.

"As part of our commitment to making health care more affordable, we regularly review our services, footprint and staffing levels to ensure they meet the needs of the people we serve, our business and evolving market dynamics," an Optum spokesperson told Patch this week. "We will continue to provide pediatric, primary care, cardiology, rheumatology and urgent care in certain locations across New Jersey. We are providing clear information and support to our patients to ensure uninterrupted care."

These services will no longer be offered by Optum:
- Behavioral health
- Endocrinology
- Podiatry
- Pulmonology
- Gastroenterology
- Chiropractic
- Orthopedics
- Dermatology
Any appointments after closing dates will be canceled. Patients can request their medical records by visiting optum.com/record-request-RIV or emailing MedicalRecordsRIV@riversidemedgroup.com.
The following offices will be shuttered. Note that some specialties are in the same building and share an address.
