​Man Dies After Being Hit By NJ Transit Train In Union County

All the passengers aboard were evacuated.

CRANFORD, NJ - A man is dead in Cranford after being hit by a New Jersey Transit train along the Raritan Valley Line Tuesday.

According to NJ Transit, the male "trespasser" on the tracks was hit near the Cranford Station shortly before 2 a.m. by a train that had left Newark Penn Station roughly twenty minutes prior.

All 25 passengers were evacuated, and no injuries were reported to anyone on board. Crew members were also left unharmed. The riders were diverted to a bus to reach their destinations.
