Marijuana Bootcamp Launches To Close 'Information Gap'
NJ Cannabis Insider, NJ.com's weekly trade journal, is hosting a cannabis business bootcamp geared toward all industry levels on Sept. 15.
NEW JERSEY — Now that New Jersey has started to "streamline the permitting process" for marijuana businesses, NJ Cannabis Insider, a weekly trade journal produced out of the NJ Advance Media newsroom, is offering discussions and education sessions at a business bootcamp, Enrique Lavin, the journal's publisher and editor said.
NJ Cannabis Insider, known for its professional conferences, industry meetups and job fairs, is offering a full day of actionable programming with workshops, panels and roundtables, on Sept. 15, the journal said on its website.
Geared toward all levels of the marijuana industry, from the budding entrepreneurs to the seasoned professionals, this learning opportunity will provide attendees with tools and resources needed to "establish and expand" a cannabis business, the journal said.

In the coming days, Lavin said, the journal will release more information on what the sessions will be, but here are some working titles and topics:
- How to write a business plan
- Step-by-step process for applying for a license
- How to work with your town
- How to cut through state government red-tape
- Understanding the real estate market
- Planning your cannabis facility
- Best practices for your cannabis store
- How to market your business
At NJ Cannabis Insider's smaller networking events, Lavin said he has seen, through reporting and conversation, an "information gap" that exists between current and desired knowledge of the marijuana industry.

"While this industry has many opportunities, it’s important to remember it’s a new and complicated industry," Lavin said. "We want to help close that gap,"
Seminar goals, the website added, will be to expand knowledge of best practice techniques, connect with industry experts, and partner with others on sponsorships or other engagement opportunities.
