NEW JERSEY — New Jerseyans are heading to the polls Tuesday, June 4, to cast their votes in the 2024 Primary Election.

Voters will have the chance to make their voices heard in local and federal elections.

Basic Information

Tuesday’s Democratic and Republican winners will be able to run in the general election on Nov. 5, while independent candidates can still file to run by June 4.

New Jersey's open primaries allow unaffiliated voters to cast ballots as long as they are registered to vote. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Who's On The Ballot

Presidential Election: While Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the presumptive Republican and Democratic nominees, respectively, Democrat voters have other options on the ballot. These include anti-abortion activist Terrisa Bukovinac and "Uncommitted," a pro-Palestine protest vote.

U.S. Senate: Justin Murphy, Curtis Bashaw, Albert Harshaw and Christine Serrano Glassner are seeking the Republican nomination to fill Sen. Bob Menendez’s current seat. Running as Democrats are Andy Kim, Patricia Campos-Medina and Lawrence Hamm.

House of Representatives

  • 1st Congressional District: Incumbent Donald Norcross seeks the Democratic nomination. Damon Galdo, Claire Gustafson and Teddy Liddell seek the Republican nomination.
  • 2nd Congressional District: Incumbent Jeff Van Drew seeks the Republican nomination. Carolyn Rush, Joseph F. Salerno, Rodney A. Dean, Sr. and Tim Alexander are seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • 3rd Congressional District: Mike Faccone, Shirley Maia-Cusick, Rajesh Mohan and Greg Sobocinski seek the Republican nomination. Joe Cohn, Herb Conaway, Carol Murphy, Brian Schkeeper and Sarah Schoengood seek the Democratic nomination.
  • 4th Congressional District: Incumbent Chris Smith and David Schmidt seek the Republican nomination. Matthew Jenkins seeks the Democratic nomination.
  • 5th Congressional District: Incumbent Josh Gottheimer is seeking the Democratic nomination. Mary Jo Guinchard and George Song are seeking the Republican nomination.
  • 6th Congressional District: John Hsu and incumbent Frank Pallone are seeking the Democratic nomination. Scott Fegler and Gregg Mele seeking the Republican nomination.
  • 7th Congressional District: Roger Bacon, and incumbent Tom Kean Jr. are seeking the Republican nomination. Sue Altman is seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • 8th Congressional District: Anthony Valdes is seeking the Republican nomination. Incumbent Rob Menendez, Ravi Bhalla and Kyle Jasey are seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • 9th Congressional District: Hector Castillo and Billy Prempeh are seeking the Republican nomination. Incumbent Bill Pascrell and Mohamed Khairullah are seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • 10th Congressional District: Carmen Bucco is seeking the Republican nomination. Donald Payne Jr., who died last month, is on the Democratic ballot.
  • 11th Congressional District: Mark De Lotto and incumbent Mikie Sherrill are seeking the Democratic nomination. Raafat Barsoom, Joe Belnome and John Sauers are seeking the Republican nomination.
  • 12th Congressional District: Thomas Jones Jr. and Darius Mayfield are seeking the Republican nomination. Daniel Dart and incumbent Bonnie Watson Coleman are seeking the Democratic nomination.
