NJ Job Seekers Will Know Salary Up Front Under New Law

New Jersey joins 14 other states, and Washington DC, in enacting pay transparency measures.

NEW JERSEY – Current and prospective employees throughout the Garden State will soon see more transparent details regarding pay, benefits and other forms of compensation.

The New Jersey Pay and Benefit Transparency Act law demands that workers have the right to this information before applying for a new role or transfer opportunity, and goes into effect on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

According to the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, the law requires employers to detail this information in job postings, and to “make reasonable efforts to make current employees aware of promotional opportunities.”
