NEW JERSEY — The Delaware Water Gap, located on the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border where the Delaware River cuts through a large ridge of the Appalachian Mountains, has been voted one of the top spots in the U.S. for cold-water plunging, according to a new survey.

To discover the best spots for a late-winter or early-spring swim, wellness website AMFM surveyed 3,105 cold-water enthusiasts about their favorite destinations.

"Enthusiasts swear by benefits (of cold-water swimming) like reduced stress, better sleep, and an overall lift in quality of life, and new research suggests they might be onto something," according to the survey. "A quick dip in frigid waters could be just the tonic to combat the late-winter blues and welcome the warmer months ahead."
