A cold front moves across New Jersey Friday, bringing fall-like temperatures to the unofficial end of summer.

Labor Day is considered the unofficial end of summer, and the weather will feel that way too, with below average temperatures in store for the holiday weekend, according to the latest forecast.

It won't be chilly in an unpleasant way, forecasters predict. Dry, sunny days will give way to chilly nights, so if you're outdoors in the evening, you might want to pack a sweatshirt. But overall, it will be beautiful outdoor weather for Labor Day weekend.

"A fresh area of high pressure will move from Canada into the Northeast over the weekend and remain in place for the Labor Day holiday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty said. "Most locations will experience comfortable days with a good deal of sunshine and chilly nights."

This cold front moving in might cause a couple of showers Friday, according to the National Weather Service. But most areas will stay dry.

"This sets up a really nice Labor Day holiday weekend across the region," National Weather Service forecasters said Friday morning.
