Snow Squalls Target NJ Tuesday: See Timing, Latest Forecast

NEW JERSEY — A windy Tuesday is in store for the Garden State, with the possibility of snow showers or brief snow squalls in North Jersey, according to the latest forecast.

The best chance for squalls, which are intense bursts of snow, is this morning, the National Weather Service said. It will likely be contained to the northwest corner of the state.

There is a 20 percent to 40 percent chance of snow squalls along the I-80 corridor, the National Weather Service said, "with a brief period of lower visibility and quick tenth or two of accumulation possible."

The rest of the state will stay dry, but with gusts of winds between 25 and 35 mph.

Another period of light snow is likely for North Jersey again this evening. But this will also only be a tenth of an inch of accumulation, the National Weather Service said.

It's also possible that another round of snow showers and squalls could hit Wednesday. This would impact the same region as today - North Jersey.
