105 Degree Heat, Severe Storms To Strike NJ As Big Weather Change Arrives: Latest Forecast
Pleasant weather will change into dangerous heat and thunderstorms by the end of the week. Here's the latest forecast:
The pleasant and mild weather New Jersey experienced early this week won't last as humidity and heat are expected to rise as rounds of severe thunderstorms move in, according to the latest forecast.
Humidity levels will start creeping up Wednesday, the National Weather Service said, with seasonable temperatures expected Thursday. By Friday, a Heat Advisory may be issued, as the heat index is expected to hit 100 to 105 degrees even along the coast.
Scattered severe storms are possible Friday, though there is some uncertainty regarding where and when, forecasters said.

Then, for the weekend and into next week, "very warm and humid conditions can be expected, along with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms," the National Weather Service said.
A heat dome will build, and while temperatures won't be record-breaking, it still will be very hot and unpleasant, according to AccuWeather forecasters.

AccuWeather also predicts "especially nasty" storms along the edges of that heat dome.
Locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding will be a risk through the weekend, with scattered severe storms possible, according to the National Weather Service. Each day has a risk of scattered to numerous showers and storms.
Things may dry up into next week, but forecasters aren't too sure how that will play out yet. Temperatures will be near normal, but it will still be humid.
