Halloween is on a Friday this year, which means celebrations will stretch into the weekend in New Jersey. Adding to the fun, Halloween won’t fall on a Friday again until 2031.

There’s still time to get in on the Halloween fun throughout New Jersey at harvest festivals, town-wide celebrations, ghost tours, and even a theme park full of scares at Six Flags Great Adventure.

  • Location: Boylan Recreation Center (Oct. 18) & JFK Recreation Center (Oct. 19)
  • Details: Enjoy candy, activities, fall traditions and more at M&M’s 11th Halloween In Newark event. The Great Pumpkin Train Rides

  • Dates: Oct. 18, 19, 25 & 26
  • Location: Delaware River Railroad Excursions (Phillipsburg, NJ)
  • Details: Ride along the Delaware River on the Delaware River Railroad Excursion’s Great Pumpkin Train, plus a stop at the Pumpkin Patch on the way home.

Halloween Food & Music Festival

  • Date: Oct. 25-26
  • Location: Bradley Park, In Front Of Convention Hall (101 5th Ave., Asbury Park)
  • Details: Check out 20 gourmet food trucks, an adult beverage garden, costume contests, a vendor shopping village and more at the Halloween Food Truck & Music Festival.

Ghost Walk

  • Date: Saturday, Oct. 25
  • Location: Parker Press Park (400 Rahway Ave., Woodbridge)
  • Details: Take a historical walking tour of Woodbridge with volunteer guides explaining Woodbridge’s haunted history. The tour runs for two hours and 30 minutes.

Witch’s Day Out

  • Date: Sunday, Oct. 26
  • Location: 615 East Moss Mill Road (Smithville, NJ)
  • Details: Enjoy Historic Smithville’s “Witch’s Day Out” with food and drink specials, a parade and more. Attendees are welcome to wear their witch’s hat and enter the hat contest as well.

Halloween In Downtown Millburn
