Another Shift For Mid-Week Storm Track: See Latest NJ Forecast

A big winter storm is going to miss New Jersey entirely, providing only a dusting of snow statewide, according to the latest forecast.

NEW JERSEY — A major winter storm dumping heavy snow in other areas of the country will miss New Jersey thanks to it taking a more southern track, forecasters say.

Wednesday's overnight storm instead will coat the state in just a dusting of snow, with 1 to 3 inches of snow possible in Atlantic and Cape May counties, according to the National Weather Service.

AccuWeather forecasters said that a last-minute northern shift could bring some light but manageable snow accumulation in the I-95 area, but a "major snowstorm" is not likely.

"There is a low chance for higher amounts depending on where the banding sets up, so remain alert for changes to the forecast," the National Weather Service said.

Snow is more likely to fall Thursday, forecasters said, though less than a half-inch is in store for most of New Jersey.
