Freezing Rain Forecast Triggers Winter Weather Advisories In NJ
Freezing rain will move into North Jersey Thursday night, potentially coating roads with ice, according to the latest forecast.

NEW JERSEY — Winter Weather Advisories have been issued in three North Jersey counties as a storm moves into the region, bringing freezing rain, according to the latest forecast.
The advisory will be in place from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday in Sussex, Warren and Morris counties, the National Weather Service said, warning that the morning commute could be impacted as roads could be slick with ice.
"This storm will bring a large area of precipitation to the Northeast Thursday night through Friday, falling mainly as rain in most places," AccuWeather Meteorologist Nick Arman said. "However, as precipitation moves in during the early morning hours of Friday, areas in Pennsylvania and New York with subfreezing temperatures will see potential ice accumulations from freezing rain, mainly during the predawn hours."

Additionally, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Passaic, Bergen, Essex and western Union counties, which could also see some icy spots Friday morning.
By late morning Friday temperatures will have risen above freezing statewide, but periods of rain will continue throughout New Jersey, making for "a dreary day overall," the National Weather Service said.

Rain should end by Friday night. "Temperatures will start falling below freezing but right now it looks like precip should end before any transition back to wintry weather," the National Weather Service said. There could be icy spots again primarily in the northwest corner of the state.
Saturday will be sunny and some rain is possible Sunday, but not a lot, according to the National Weather Service.
