Asbury Park Among 25 Best Beaches In USA

ASBURY PARK - Once again, Asbury Park is among the nation's best.

Travel and Leisure magazine has once again provided its list of the 25 best beaches in the United States, and Asbury Park has once again made it.

"Many different criteria define the perfect beach: the sand, the waves (or lack thereof), the level seclusion, the public transportation and accessible parking, the boardwalk, the activities, and even the amount of shaded trees," the magazine said.

The magazine didn't provide a numbered list, but it did list the New Jersey beach among the pristine sands of Florida, California and Hawaii.

"Stretching about a mile along New Jersey’s Atlantic coast, Asbury Park Beach is a lively, clean, white-sand beach," the magazine said.

"And just across the street is the fabled bar, The Stone Pony, made famous by locals Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi."
