The Asbury Park School District will have a two-hour delayed opening for students on Friday.

ASBURY PARK – The Asbury Park School District will have a two-hour delayed opening for students on Friday.
All aftercare and after-school activities will operate as normal.
There was no mention on the website as to the reason for the delay.

The district did provide information on dealing with the coronavirus outbreak:
"As the Asbury Park School District continues to monitor developments related to the coronavirus, we are finalizing an alternate home instructional plan should the need for a health-related closure arise.

"In the interim, we are continuing daily use of our three-step cleaning and disinfecting process of all regular and frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs and handrails.
"As a reminder, we encourage everyone to routinely wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer with 60-percent or more alcohol content.
"Also, please be mindful that your child must be fever-free for 24 hours before he/she can return to school. As always, please visit our website and social media pages for real-time updates."
