An Asbury Park Press report says a student was arrested after he brought a loaded handgun to Asbury Park High School.

ASBURY PARK – A report says a student was arrested after he reportedly brought a loaded handgun to Asbury Park High School, police said.
The charges against the boy, who was not named, are pending the outcome of an investigation that is still active, according to The Asbury Park Press.

Asbury Park has been shaken by a recent spate of shootings and violence. The Asbury Park Press even recently rode along with Paul Butkoff and members of his patrol who navigate the streets of the city's West Side with the goal of curtailing the violence, the report said.
