The Asbury Park Police Department is reminding everyone to secure their bicycles due to an increase in the amount of bicycle thefts being reported. Police are encouraging everyone to take precautions when securing their bicycles. Use a high-quality cable/bar lock and secure your bicycle to a fixed object, preferably a bicycle parking station, police said. Secure your bicycle in an open and well-lit area. As always, be aware of your surroundings.
