Most Expensive Condo Ever Sold In NJ Sold At LIDO Asbury Park, Which Had Groundbreaking Monday

LIDO is going up now at 1201 Ocean Avenue. The smallest condo is 907 square feet and pricing starts at $1.03 million.

ASBURY PARK, NJ — There's a new extremely luxury condo building going up in Asbury Park: It's called LIDO Asbury Park and it's an eight-story building being built at 1201 Ocean Avenue.

LIDO started selling condos in July and already set a record for the highest-priced condo ever sold in New Jersey: A four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath penthouse at LIDO sold in the fall of 2025 for $7.6 million (yup, that beats prior condo sales at the Hudson Tea building in Hoboken and elsewhere in the state).

LIDO is owned by Ralph Zucker, the same man who owns Bell Works office building in Holmdel. Zucker is the owner and CEO of Inspired by Somerset Development, the development company that owns Bell Works.

Monday was the groundbreaking for LIDO, which is the date construction officially started. LIDO will be 112 luxury condominiums (lido means "beach" or "seaside" in Italian) and pricing starts at $1,035,000, with select condos priced over $8 million. Completion is expected in 2027.

Condos range from one- to four-bedrooms, at 970 square feet at the smallest to 3,800+ square feet. The most expensive condos have private outdoor terraces and private plunge pools. Some homes have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, famous Asbury Park landmarks and the boardwalk.
