Police Search For Neptune City Man Wanted For Fatal Shooting In Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK, NJ — A Neptune City man is currently at large and sought by law enforcement for a fatal shooting in Asbury Park on Sept. 11 of this year.

Jerod Jones, 32, of Neptune City, is wanted for the murder of Tyshan Small, 37, in Asbury Park.

Two men were shot on that date on the 100 block of Monmouth Avenue; police arrived to find two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. Small was rushed to a local hospital where he later died. The second gunshot victim was also taken to a local hospital, where he survived.

A second shooting then took place directly after Jones’ alleged murder of Small and the other man: Calvin Joseph, 18, of Asbury Park, was charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder and multiple illegal gun charges for firing a gun. Asbury Park Police located him the next day, Sept. 12, and found him to be in illegal possession of a gun.

Jones remains a wanted fugitive.
