Victim Shot 5 Times In Asbury Park: Prosecutor
Monmouth County law enforcement officials say they are investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night in Asbury Park.

FREEHOLD – Monmouth County law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night in Asbury Park that left one victim critically injured, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.
Rumors being circulated on social media falsely indicated that this incident involved a police-involved shooting, but that is not the case, the MCPO said.
The incident happened after Asbury Park Police responded to the area of 1031 Sewell Ave. at approximately 10:17 p.m. on Wednesday, the MCPO said.

Upon arrival, police officers located a male victim with five gunshot wounds, the MCPO said. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently in critical, but stable condition. The investigation has thus far revealed a minimum of sixteen shots were fired in the area.
The case is being investigated by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department.
