Arthur P. Drexler was suspended as police chief in late July, with no explanation. And he's been gone ever since then. Still no explanation.
But you would never know it, looking at the township website. It's still July 2016 there.

Mayor Albert Bille referred all questions from Patch yesterday to Township Attorney Jerry J. Dasti.
Dasti had no explanation either.
"This is a personnel matter which is still ongoing," Dasti said. "The Ocean County Prosecutor's has correctly, required that we not discuss the ongoing matter with the public. Sorry."
Barnegat Township Mayor John J. Novak said last year that day to day department operations have not been affected. Novak is a former New Jersey State Trooper.
Patch will continue to provide more information as soon as it is available.
