Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 28, 2016

Rough surf, moderate rip current risk forecast for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with some patchy drizzle this afternoon.

Highs today will be in the lower 70s. Beach winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 miles per hour.
Waves will be from three to five feet, with northeast swells of four feet. The ocean water temperature is 71 degrees.

There's a moderate rip current risk today, which means that wind or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Always have a flotation device with you in the water and swim only in guarded areas.

There are very few beaches open during the week this late during the season. Do not swim in unguarded areas. One man drowned in Long Beach island recently and a woman was rescued in Point Pleasant Beach over the weekend.

High tide at Belmar arrived at 6:03 a.m. Low tide will roll in at 12:02 p.m., followed by another high tide at 6:19 p.m.
