National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Advisory In Advance Of Ice-Glazed Roads

Some power outages have already been reported.

The National Weather Service has cancelled a winter weather advisory for coastal central and Southern New Jersey, but has issued a high wind and ice accumulation warning for much of Tuesday.

Winds will be from the northeast at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 60. Winds will shift to the northwest this afternoon. The high wind warning will be in effect until 4 p.m.

The NWS also issued a winter weather advisory in Ocean County for ice. Heavy rain will soon change to sleet and freezing rain ending by mid-afternoon.

The winter storm warning has been cancelled. Temperatures are expect to drop to 30 degrees soon and change the remaining precipitation to sleet or freezing rain. Roads will be treacherous during midday and strong winds will lead to power outages and fallen trees. Winds are expected to drop to 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 55.

Some moderate coastal flooding has been report in southern Ocean County.
