Stafford Woman Charged With Assault By Auto, Driving Under The Influence: Cops

Eileen King, 51, Cedar Run, was arrested today.

Stafford Police have charged a Cedar Run woman with assault by auto and driving under the influence in connection with a Sept. 7 accident that left a Tuckerton woman badly hurt and a five-year-boy injured, Officer Justin Pascale said.

Eileen King, 51, of Cedar Run was placed under arrest on October 3, 2016 on a $50,000 warrant issued out of Stafford Township set by the Municipal Court Judge Damian G. Murray.

The warrant stems from a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred on Route 9 at Mayetta Landing Road at 7:36 p.m. on Sept. 7. The collision involved King, who was traveling north in a 2013 Chrysler 300c, when she drifted over the centerline and crashed head-on into a 1995 Geo Metro operated by Paige Spano, 20, of Tuckerton, he said.

Spano suffered extensive injuries from the collision and is now home recovering. King also had a 5-year-old boy on board who suffered moderate injuries from the collision due to not being in a proper child restraint system.

The investigation also showed that King was operating her vehicle while under the influence of prescription medication. In addition to being charged with assault by auto, she was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to have a child in a child restraint and failure to maintain lane, Pascale said.
