Three Saved From Rip Current Off Harvey Cedars Beach, One Taken To Hospital
Incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Three swimmers were pulled from the ocean on Sunday afternoon off the 77th Street beach in Harvey Cedars after they were sucked into a large rip current, according to the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol Facebook page.
One of the victims was taken to an area hospital, shortly after 2 p.m. incident. The victims were brought to shore by members of the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol and Harvey Cedars police department.
The members of High Point Volunteer Fire Department, the Barnegat Light Volunteer Fire Department Company and the Barnegat Light First Aid also responded.

"It's important to swim in front of a lifeguard on a guarded beach to prevent drownings and injuries."
Harvey Cedars is one of the few towns in Ocean County that still has a guarded beach this late in the season. The Middlesex Avenue beach will be guarded from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all this week.

The National Weather Service forecast waves of four feet and swells of four to five feet for Sunday.
