53-Year-Old Basking Ridge Dad Dies, Fundraiser Set Up For Family

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A 53-year-old Basking Ridge husband and father recently died and a fundraiser has been set up to support his family.

Christopher Henry McGuigan died on Nov. 11 at his home and he was the "devoted and proud dad of Sonny and loving husband to San," according to the GoFundMe fundraiser.

"Chris was an incredible example of how we should live life. From his smile to his laughter, Chris lit up any room he walked into. He was the epitome of what a husband, father, son, brother and friend should be," according to the fundraiser.

The GoFundMe campaign was established to support his family in their time of need.

One of McGuigan's passions was cooking.

"He was an amazing chef who enjoyed cooking for all," according to his obituary with Par-Troy Funeral Home.

Most recently, he was a corporate chef at Barclay Headquarters in Whippany.

"You were always guaranteed to laugh when Chris was around. His laughter was contagious as he cracked a joke or a witty comment," according to his obituary. "Chris thoughtfulness and his willingness to always help in any way possible was one of his most genuine characteristics. He enjoyed spending time with San and Sonny doing the things they loved, like going to the beach and traveling especially to South Beach, Miami. Of course when Chris wasn't with San or Sonny, you could always find him at the gym!"

McGuigan was pre-deceased by his father, James H. who died on May 11, 1982.

McGuigan leaves behind his wife, Santoshi 'San' (nee-Sadhwani); his loving son and best friend, Christopher 'Sonny'; his mother, Diane C. (nee-Trizzino); his brother, James and his sister, Nicole Lombardi and her husband, Michael; his mother-in-law, Poonam Sadhwani; and his sister-in-law, Pooja Capuano & her husband, Joe.
