Opportunities range from helping at God’s Co-op Food Pantry and the Food Bank Network of Somerset County to joining the all-volunteer Basking Ridge Fire Company or Liberty Corner Fire Company, as well as assisting animals at Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.

Basking Ridge Man Found Guilty Of Slamming Cop With Car During Wild High-Speed Chase (patch.com) — A Basking Ridge man has been convicted on multiple serious charges after a 2023 high-speed chase in Manville where a police lieutenant was struck by a car and a house was hit. Jurors found him guilty of nine offenses involving assault, weapons, and resisting arrest, and a separate bench trial added a firearms possession conviction, with sentencing set for January 2026.
   

3. Tractor Trailer Veers Down Embankment On I-78 In Basking Ridge: Police (patch.com) — Residents in Basking Ridge may have noticed emergency activity on I-78 Saturday morning after a crash between a Toyota sedan and a tractor-trailer near milepost 32.4 in Bernards Township. State Police say the impact sent the tractor-trailer down an embankment into a guardrail, and the driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries as the investigation continues.

Basking Ridge Schools Honor Teachers, Support Professionals of the Year (tapinto.net) — Basking Ridge educators across the Bernards Township School District have been honored as Teachers and Educational Support Professionals of the Year, celebrating their impact on local students and families. From Cedar Hill and Liberty Corner to William Annin and Ridge High, each school selected standout staff members whose work exemplifies academic excellence, student support, and community commitment.
   

5. Basking Ridge Team Qualifies for State-Level First LEGO League Robotics Competition (tapinto.net) — A team of four Basking Ridge seventh-graders, mostly from William Annin Middle School, has advanced to the New Jersey State First LEGO League Robotics Competition after a strong regional showing and a Core Values award. Competing against 80 North Jersey teams, they finished 38th statewide in robotics, gaining valuable experience and planning to return even stronger next year.
