6 Vaccine Clinics Offered By Bernards Township Health Department

Flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, and TDAP vaccinations are available, as well as free health screenings including blood pressure, pulse ox and BMI.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department has announced its 2025 Fall Vaccine Clinic schedule, with six locations for residents of Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Mendham Borough, Peapack & Gladstone Borough, and Long Hill Township.

Flu shots are recommended annually before the end of October.

The first clinic will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge from 9 to 11 a.m. Flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, and TDAP vaccinations are available, as well as free health screenings including blood pressure, pulse ox, and body mass index (BMI) evaluations, as well as information on fall prevention for seniors.

Each year, the influenza (flu) virus leads to severe illness, hospitalization, and deaths, especially among vulnerable populations such as the elderly, young children, and individuals with underlying health conditions.

Last winter, the 2024-2025 flu season was the highest severity season in over a decade, with nearly 560,000 hospitalizations and 24,000 deaths. Among children, a record 278 pediatric flu deaths were recorded.

In addition to flu vaccines for children, adults, and seniors, each upcoming clinic will offer COVID-19 and pneumonia vaccines. Visit the Health Department’s website for current recommendations and age/insurance eligibility for each vaccine.

Residents are encouraged to learn more and schedule an appointment online at https://www.bernardshealth.org/health-promotion/flu. Online registration will speed up the visit, but walk-ins are also welcome.

  • Friday Oct. 3 – Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge
  • Wednesday, Oct. 8 – Long Hill Township Library in Gillette
  • Friday, Oct. 17 – Peapack & Gladstone Municipal Building
  • Wednesday, Oct. 22 – Chester Borough Municipal Building
  • Monday, Oct. 27 – Bernardsville Library
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28 – Hilltop Church in Mendham

All individuals, especially those in high-risk groups, should plan to attend one of the clinics as soon as possible, or get a vaccination from your healthcare provider or a pharmacy.

Getting vaccinated significantly reduces your risk of contracting and spreading respiratory viruses and protects those who may have weaker immune systems or chronic illnesses, contributing to the overall health and safety of the community.
