$8 Million To Improve Ridge Varsity Field, Resurface Track, Replace 2 School Roofs
The Bernards Township Board of Education recently approved several withdrawals from the Capital Reserve Fund and Maintenance Reserve Fund.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township School District is investing roughly $8 million to upgrade its Varsity Field, resurface the Ridge track, and replace two school roofs.
The Board of Education(BOE) recently approved several withdrawals from the Capital Reserve Fund and Maintenance Reserve Fund at its Nov. 24 meeting.

The approvals included a change order for to Laumar Roofing Co. Inc. for the Mount Prospect Roofing Replacement project. It is expected to cost $1,326,939.15.

To fund the major improvements coming to the soccer and baseball fields at Ridge High School to address "extreme drainage problems," the BOE made two withdrawals.

The BOE approved the withdrawal not to exceed $1,409,315 from the Capital Reserve Fund to cover the sports field improvement costs for the approved Varsity Field Project.
An additional $1,339,815 will also be withdrawn from the Maintenance Reserve Fun to cover the drainage portion costs associated with the approved Varsity Field Project.
The plan includes replacing the soccer field with artificial turf adding LED lights, as well as providing improvements to the baseball field at the high school.
New bleachers will also be installed along with goal posts and scoreboards. Drainage will also be addressed.
Cedar Hill Roof
The BOE also approved the withdrawal of not to exceed $2,964,400 from the Capital Reserve Fund to cover the costs for the approved Cedar Hill Roofing Project.
Ridge Track
Lastly, the BOE approved the withdrawal not to exceed $1 million from the Maintenance Reserve Fund to cover the costs for the approved Ridge Track Re-Surfacing Project.
